A.C.E. (Accelerated Christian Curriculum,) is a Bible-based, K-12, curriculum that focuses on the individualization of each academic subject for each student. It has been used in many homeschool households. However, we believe socialization is an important part of learning, which is why are an in-person school using this curriculum.
Historically, students have been expected to work and learn at the same level regardless of maturity, personal motivation, and mental capacity. Given Nevada's current national educational ranking, we now know this expectation does not meet reality. The above average student may learn a skill the first time exposed to it, the average student may partially learn the skill, and the below average student may understand the skill on a very small-scale or miss it entirely. However, A.C.E.'s PACE system builds off of the previous PACE's material and allows the student to learn at his/her speed. He/she must master the initial PACE material before moving to the next one. Some students may move quicker than others, but nonetheless the skill will be mastered before progressing to the next level. A.C.E. simply summarized their curriculum on their website by saying this, "Each student learns essential academics and explores truths about God and His world without being pressured to keep up with a group." Spring Valley Christian Academy agrees and has found much effectiveness in this system and has used it since opening its doors in 1995.
